Well, it has been a while since I got to go backpacking and now a chance has come. August 6th through 8th, I’ll be doing about 30 miles with the Trailplace Hiker Bums. The bums are just a few guys that met on www.trailplace.com and decided to do section hikes together. Recently they hiked Deep Gap to Glassmine Gap. I wasn’t able to make that trip. Now they are planning Glassmine gap to the Nantahala. We’ll hike out early on Friday morning and finish up Sunday afternoon. I plan to go as light weight as possible for this trip, as it has been a while and I am somewhat out of shape, it will be hot and the last part is a major downhill knee breaker. Think I’ll even take teh alcohol stove, instead of the cannister stove.

Well, I realize that it has been a while since I blogged anything. Guess that’s a statement on how life has been going. It’s bee mostly work, work, work. The job is going good. Starting to make new things happen which pleases the boss and my paycheck. Took a little while, but that was to be expected since I was adding a new vertical market to their existing base. It has meant (and will continue to mean) long hours. Other than that, I have been spending a fair amount of time fixing small things on Mike’s 95 Cherokee and teaching him to drive. He’s progressing nicely, but is still learning. Some days he thinks that he’s a driver, not just a learner. But I suppose that’s just the teen in him.
The house s still on the market. We have had a few interested people, but nothing has happened yet. Sure will be glad to get all of this behind us.
Haven’t had a chance to go backpacking in a while. Must plan a trip soon. I miss the trail. The solitude and the woods do a fantastic job at rejuvenating me.
The Fourth of July was a good weekend with fireworks on two nights and a final day to rest up and relax. Also got to spend most of the weekend driving the Jeep.
Well, I guess I’ll see you next blog. Hopefully there will be something to add other than day to day life updates.

- Long day, but that has become norm #
- I see the light at the end of the tunnel and it's name is Weekend. #
- Up way too damn early for a Saturday #
- Great day golfing. But of course fun on the links with a couple of friends is always a great day. #
